Brott Opera: Verdi's La Traviata

La Traviata
THURS JULY 13th & 14th, 7:30pm
Ancaster Memorial Arts Centre
Alain Trudel, Conductor
La Traviata is a romantic tragedy on which the famous Moulin Rouge and Pretty Woman were inspired. La Traviata tells the tale of a prostitute dying of tuberculosis who catches the eye of the young, Alfredo. The two fall in love and flee off to a country cottage to live out their days, until they are met with an ultimatum from Alfredo’s father. Our love story slowly crumbles as the two-encounter jealousy, rage, and humiliation. Verdi pushed the limits with Traviata by publicly showcasing tuberculosis, a disease that was overtaking cities with no treatment. Join us to see if love will conquer all.
Join us for a pre-concert chat with Opera Canada’s reviewer, Dawn Martens at 6:30 in the Voortman Studio Theatre.
Tickets
$59 Reg | $54 Sr | $25 Stu | $10 Children (12 and under)
