The Sound of Music
FirstOntario Concert Hall
The Sound of Music, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s final collaboration, is one of the world’s most beloved musicals.
The Sound of Music tells the tale of young postulant Maria, whose free spirit has trouble fitting into the rules and regulations of the Abbey. Maria leaves to serve as the governess for the Von Trapp children. Through her kindness and her spunk she transforms the family home from a place of dour rules to one filled with joy, with laughter, and especially music! In the process, Maria wins the hearts of all seven children--and their widower father, Captain Von Trapp.
The family's narrow escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre.
Fully staged with a full symphony orchestra, boasting classics you know and love such as Sixteen Going on Seventeen, My Favourite Things, Edelweiss, Climb Ev'ry Mountain and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria!
You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and you’ll be singing all the way home!
